Global tech compensation intelligence

Know what
you're worth.

Real, recent salary benchmarks for tech roles across every major market. Weighted for freshness. Built on submissions from engineers, PMs, designers, and data folks like you.

Anonymous. Takes 2 minutes. Never displayed individually.

What makes it different

Data you can act on

Built for the two moments that matter — evaluating an offer, and setting a band.

Percentile bands, not averages

P10 to P90 by role, level, region, and company size. Filter the way real offers get compared.

Normalized levels

A short rubric maps your real scope of work to a common ladder — so a 'Senior' at your company is comparable across the industry.

Weighted for freshness

Recent submissions count more. Stale data is flagged, not silently averaged in. Every chart shows when it was last updated.

Shared with your team

Team plans include 5 seats and a shared workspace, so recruiters, hiring managers and comp partners work from the same live bands.

EU Pay Transparency, report-ready

Upload your payroll once and get Directive (EU) 2023/970 reporting — pay gaps, quartiles, and every category above the 5% assessment threshold.

Job descriptions, tied to the band

Draft a description with AI from the job family and level, keep it versioned in a searchable catalog, and publish it with the live pay range attached — never a stale copy-paste. Team plan.

How it works

Two sides. One dataset.

Individuals get their benchmark by contributing. Employers get pay bands and equity audits by subscribing. The data compounds.

Why We Built This

Pay opacity is a tax.
It falls hardest on the people with the least leverage.

Every negotiation, every offer, every promotion cycle turns on one question — what is this role actually worth? And in tech, where levels differ by company and comp is split across base, bonus, and equity, that question is almost impossible to answer honestly on your own.

Existing tools optimize for volume of data points, not freshness. We think that's backwards. A three-year-old salary from a company that no longer exists doesn't tell you anything useful about the market you're negotiating in this quarter.

"Compensation transparency is a public good.It should be built like one."

The real problem isn't just missing data — it's a trust gap between people and the companies they work for. Employees are left guessing whether an offer is fair. Employers are left guessing whether their pay bands will attract and keep the talent they need. Both sides are acting on hearsay, not evidence, and that asymmetry costs everyone: mis-hires, delayed negotiations, disengagement, and churn.

Transparency changes the conversation. When employees and employers share the same benchmark, negotiation stops being a zero-sum game and starts becoming a conversation about value, level, and growth. Employees can advocate for themselves with confidence. Employers can make offers that stand up to scrutiny and explain why they pay what they pay. Alignment is the outcome; verified numbers are the mechanism.

EarnWell exists so that a senior backend engineer in Berlin, a PM in Bangalore, and a compensation lead in New York can all query the same living dataset — anonymously, honestly, and with provenance visible on every chart.
