1. Who we are

EarnWell is operated by SpaceNation Pty Ltd (trading as EarnWell). SpaceNation Pty Ltd is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through the platform. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

2. Personal data we collect

  • Account data: email, name, profile photo (optional), authentication identifiers.
  • Compensation submissions: role, level, location, base, bonus, equity, tenure. Submitted voluntarily and stored de-identified for aggregation.
  • Employer data: company name, size, industry, seat assignments and (optionally) bulk pay files used to generate internal analyses.
  • Support and communications: messages you send us and metadata about them.
  • Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device identifiers, pages viewed, feature usage — used to secure the platform and improve the product.

3. Purposes and legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

  • Provide the service (contract): account creation, benchmarks, tools, AI answers, seat management.
  • Secure the platform and prevent fraud (legitimate interests): abuse detection, rate limiting, audit logs.
  • Improve the product (legitimate interests): aggregated analytics on feature usage.
  • Communicate about your account and subscription (contract / legitimate interests): transactional email.
  • Marketing (consent, where required): only where you have opted in; you can withdraw at any time.
  • Comply with legal obligations: tax, accounting, responding to lawful requests.

We do not sell personal data.

4. AI-generated content — indicative only

Any output from the “Ask EarnWell” assistant, offer evaluations, pay bands, equity summaries or other model-generated content is indicative guidance only and does not constitute legal, tax, financial or professional advice. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

5. Sharing and sub-processors

We share personal data only with the following categories of recipients:

  • Payment processor — Stripe: processes card payments, subscription billing, tax calculation and invoicing on our behalf. Stripe receives your name, email, billing address and payment details as necessary to process transactions.
  • Infrastructure and hosting providers: cloud hosting, database, authentication and email delivery for the platform.
  • AI model providers — Google Gemini (via Lovable AI Gateway): to generate responses in the “Ask EarnWell” assistant. Prompts are sent for inference only and are not used to train third-party models.
  • Professional advisers: legal, accounting and audit, under confidentiality.
  • Authorities: where required by law or to protect our rights.

6. International transfers

Personal data may be processed outside the UK/EEA and Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms with our providers.

7. Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax and audit obligations. De-identified compensation submissions may be retained indefinitely within aggregated datasets. You can request deletion of your account and identifiable data at any time from your profile page or by emailing us.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, UK GDPR and comparable regimes you can request: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We will respond within one month. Use the tools in your profile or email spacenation@protonmail.com.

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, row-level security policies and audit logging — to protect personal data. See our Security page for more detail.

10. Cookies

We use strictly-necessary cookies for authentication and session management, and minimal first-party analytics to understand feature usage. We do not use advertising cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
